Time passed and the actor kept taunting the lion。 The crowds grew larger; and his salary kept increasing。
However; one day the actor slipped and fell right into the lion’s cage。 He was terrified。 The lion gathered itself and prepared to pounce。 The actor began to scream and yell。 “Help me! Help me!” he cried。
The lion pounced on him and knocked him to the ground。 The actor looked up at the angry lion and the lion said “Shut up; you idiot! Do you want to get us both fired?”

  True Courage
An American General; a Russian General and a British General are standing on the deck of a ship watching war exercises。 The topic of discussion turns to human courage; and the Russian General boasts;“Russians are the most courageous people on Earth!”
Upon which the American challenges him:“Oh YEAH?”
The Russian says;“Sure! Here; Yuri! Jump off the deck (into the freezing Atlantic) and swim around the ship!”
Yuri marches off without a word; and does as he is told。 The Russian turns around and says:“See; there’s an example of courage!”
The American has to top this; so he calls up one of his underlings and gives him the order:“Jack; Jump off the main mast into the ocean;and swim around the ship seven times!”
Poor Jack goes off without a murmur; and he too does as he is told。 The American General says:“Now top that for courage!”
So they both turn around to the British General who has been standing around watching these antics silently。 They ask him:“What about your people?”
So the British guy calls up one of his people and says:“Trevor; jump off the mast and swim under the keel of the ship; will you; old chap?”
  Trevor stares at his general。
“Let me get this right。 You want me to jump off the mast。”
  “Yes。”
  “And swim under the keel。”
  “Yes。”
  “You must be daft!”
And so saying; Trevor turns around and saunters off。 Whereupon the British General turns to the other two and says; “Now there’s an example of TRUE courage!”

“I heard the other girls talking about wanting to be older so they could have boyfriends。 I asked my teacher Mrs。 Smith what a boyfriend was。 She said it’s a boy who kisses you。 So I told the girls on the bus on the way home that I had a boyfriend already。 Now they all are jealous of me and want to be my friend。” Now Jenny’s parents were worried。 “What boy is kissing you? Who is this boyfriend of yours?” Jenny’s mom asked her。 “Why; it’s Daddy;” Jenny said。 “He kisses me goodnight。 That makes him my boyfriend;” she said。 “e to think of it; Mommy kisses me goodnight; too; so I guess that makes you my girlfriend。 Wait until the girls on the bus hear I have a boyfriend and a girlfriend; too!”
  He Understood
Two Americans were traveling in Spain。 One morning they came into a little restaurant for lunch。 They did not know Spanish; and their waiter did not know English。 They wanted him to understand that they wanted some milk and sandwiches。
At first they pronounced the word “milk” many times。 Then they spelled it。 But the waiter could not understand them。
At last one of them took a piece of paper and began to draw a cow。 He was finishing his drawing; when the waiter looked at it and ran out of the restaurant。 “Do you see;” said one of the travelers; “what a pencil can do for a man who has difficulties in a foreign country?”
The waiter was back again some time after; but he brought no milk。
He put down in front of the two men tickets for a bullfight。

  Making Reservations
A man wrote to a hotel to make reservations and asked if dogs were allowed。
The hotel manager answered his letter as follows:

  Violin Lessons
“Daddy; can I learn to play the violin?” young Sarah asked her father。 She was always asking for things and her father was not very pleased。
“You cost me a lot of money; Sarah;” he said。“First you wanted Io learn horse riding; then dancing; then swimming。 Now it’s the violin。”
  “I’ll play every day。 Daddy。” Sarah said; “I’ll try very hard。”
“All fight;” her father said。 “This is what I’ll do。 I’ll pay for you to have lessons for six weeks。 At the end of six weeks you must play something for me。 If you play well; you can have more lessons。 If you play badly; I will stop the lessons。”
“OK。 Daddy;” Sarah said; “That is fair。”
He soon found a good violin teacher and Sarah began her lessons。 The teacher was very expensive; but her father kept his promise。
The six weeks passed quickly。 The time came for Sarah to play for her father。
She went to the living room and said。 “I’m ready to play for you; Daddy。”
“Fine; Sarah;” her father said; “Begin。”
She began to play。 She played very badly。 She made a terrible noise。
Her father had one of his friends with him; and the friend put his hands over his ears。
When Sarah finished; her father said; “Well done; Sarah。 You can have more lessons。” Sarah ran happily out of the room。 Her father’s friend turned to him。 “You’ve spent a lot of money; but she still plays very badly。” he said。
“Well; that’s true;” her father said; “But since she started learning the violin I’ve been able to buy five apartments in this building very cheaply。 In another six weeks I’ll own the whole building!”
